3 Known restrictions
3.1 .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
DiBos 8.7 requires .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
If it is not installed the user needs to install it manually before installing any of the
DiBos 8.7 software (receiver or recorder or IP recorder).
The setup of .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is included on the DiBos Setup DVD
Important notes:
It is highly recommended to recover the recorder with the DiBos 8.7 Recovery
DVD. This is faster and you do not need to install the .NET Framework before. It
is already part of the 8.7 Recovery image.
If you choose to install the .NET framework from DVD please disconnect the
computer from the internet. Otherwise the setup files will be downloaded which
will extend the installation time up to 2 hours.
On DiBos XP embedded (like on every DiBos recorder) the setup installation
lasts 45 minutes or longer.
If there is any warning about free hard disk space, please ignore this warning.
3.2 Remote configuration limits
Unlike the standard (local) configuration the remote configuration has the following
restrictions:
It is not possible to configure analog camera and audio inputs.
It is not possible to configure the settings in the menus “Drives”, “Security and
network”, “Administration and dongle”
In the menu “Export video scheduler” it is not possible to create new network
drives, however, a target directory can be selected
In the menu “Options” it is not possible to configure the “Alarm procedure”
On each of the configuration pages for BVIP devices the live video image will not
be displayed
Remote configuration is not supported by the DiBos web access
WARNING
Please make sure that you don’t configure the same DiBos recorder from 2 different
locations (locally and remotely or from 2 remote clients). This can result in
inconsistent configuration data.
