Do not place base or jug on or near hot surfaces, e.g. hotplates.
, Risk of scalding!
The appliance heats up during use. Therefore, take hold of the appli-
ance by the handles only and open the lid only when cold.
Use appliance only with lid attached.
If the appliance is filled above the max. mark, there is a risk of boiling
water spurting out.
Do not use near water which is in the bath, washbasin
or other vessels.

Do not let children play with packaging material.
These operating instructions refer to several
models: 2400 W/240 V and 3100 W/240 V.
Before using your appliance for
the first time
To clean the kettle thoroughly, fill with
clear water, bring to the boil and repeat.
The first time you fill the kettle, add
a tablespoon of household vinegar.
Important
Use the kettle only with the base which
is marked with Type Type CTWK11,
CTWK13 for 2400 W and Type CTWK12,
CTWK14 for 3100 W.
High power appliances may have a louder
boiling noise.
Fill the kettle with water only. Milk or instant
products will burn and damage the appliance.
Boiling the water
Please fold out the illustrated page!
Do not switch an appliance on when empty
as it could be damaged.
Observe the max mark!
Before boiling water, close the lid and insert
the filter, otherwise the automatic steam stop
will not function!
Risk of scalding!
Do not open lid whilst it is hot.
Leave the appliance to cool down for
5 minutes before refilling with water.
Information:
The appliance switches off as soon
as the boiling process ends.
Note:
For physical reasons condensation may
form on the base. This is a normal process
and the kettle is not leaking.
Cleaning and descaling
Electric shock risk
Never immerse the kettle or the base in water
or put in the dishwasher!
Do not use a steam cleaner.
Remove mains plug.
Descale the kettle with vinegar or a
commercially available descaling agent.
Do not use sharp or abrasive detergents.
Rinse out the kettle and scale filter with
clear water.
Regular descaling
prolongs the service life of the appliance,
ensures that the kettle functions properly,
reduces the boiling time,
saves energy.
