Bosch Power Tools 1 609 929 K11 | (18.2.09)
When the warning light 4 flashes during IS oper-
ation and/or the alarm sounds during ENT oper-
ation, the folded filters 18 must be cleaned. For
this, set the mode selector switch 6 to the elec-
tromagnetic filter cleaning symbol. The folded
filters are cleaned for approx. 10 seconds.
If the warning light 4 should continue to flash
and/or the alarm should continue to sound, the
dust bag 17 must be exchanged.
When the warning light 4 still continues to flash
and/or the alarm continues to sound, the vacu-
um cleaner must be checked as described under
“Malfunctions”.
f The vacuum cleaner contains materials that
are hazardous to one’s health. Have the
emptying and maintenance, incl. the dispos-
al of dust-collection containers, carried out
only by specialists. Appropriate protective
equipment is required. Do not operate the
vacuum cleaner without the complete filter
system. Otherwise there is danger to your
own health.
Mounting the Vacuum Hose
(see figure A)
Mount the vacuum hose 10 onto the hose con-
nection piece 9 and turn it in clockwise direc-
tion to the stop.
Insert the extension tubes firmly into each oth-
er.
Note: Bosch recommends using static-discharg-
ing hoses with a hose Ø of 19 or 35 mm.
Operation
Starting Operation
f Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage
of the power source must agree with the
voltage specified on the nameplate of the
vacuum cleaner. Equipment marked with
230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
f Switch the vacuum cleaner off immediately
as soon as foam or water comes out, and
empty the container. Otherwise, the vacuum
cleaner can become damaged.
f Please inform yourself about the valid regu-
lations/laws for your country concerning
the handling of materials that are hazard-
ous to one’s health.

Vacuuming Deposited Dusts
(IS Operating Mode)
f Wear a dust respirator.
Note: In IS operating mode, it is only allowed to
use the 35 mm hose and nozzle program.
To start the operation of the vac, set the mode
selector switch 6 to on.
To switch off the vac, set the mode selector
switch 6 to off.
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with an airflow
monitoring system (Airflow). In the IS operating
mode, the airflow is continuously set to a value
of 20 m/s, independent of the positoin of the
Airflow regulator 5.
If this value is fallen below, e. g. caused through
debris accumulated in the vacuum hose, a full
dust bag or a clogged folded filter, warning light
4 flashes. In this case, shut the vacuum cleaner
off and check it as described under “Malfunc-
tions”.
Extracting Dusts Resulting from Running Pow-
er Tools (ENT Operating Mode with Remote
Automatic Switching) (see figure B)
f Wear a dust respirator.
f An adequate ventilation rate (L) must be
provided for when the outgoing air is circu-
lated. Observe the respective national regu-
lations. Measured with a Ø 35 mm and 5 m
long vacuum hose, the airflow is 39 l/s and
the maximum vacuum is 225 mbar.
