Siting the appliance
Note the ambient
temperature
The appliance can be operated at the
following ambient temperatures depending
on the “climatic category” (see rating plate
Fig. ©).
Climatic
category
N/SN
Ambient temperature
from ... to
+10 °C to +32 °C
If the ambient temperature drops below the
lower ambient-temperature range, the
running time of the refrigerating unit is
reduced. As a result, the freezer compart
ment does not drop to a sufficiently low
temperature. In extreme cases frozen foods
can thaw.
Site
Site the appliance in a dry, well ventilated
room, but NOT in direct sunlight and NOT
near a heat source, e.g. cooker, radiator, etc.
If installation next to a heat source is
unavoidable, use a suitable insulating plate
or comply with the following minimum
distances to the heat source.
3 cm to an electric cooker.
30 cm to a coal-fired cooker.
If the appliance is installed next to another
refrigerator or freezer, observe a minimum
distance of 2 cm to prevent condensation.
Siting
The appliance must be stand firmly and level
on the floor. Use the two front height-
adjustable feet to compensate for an uneven
floor.
Ventilation
The heated air must be able to escape
through the rear of the appliance. If the air
flow is obstructed, the refrigerating unit must
work harder which increases the power
24
consumption. Therefore, NEVER cover the
ventilation slots (Fig. ®).
Changing over door hinges
Steps in numerical sequence (Fig. ®).
Connecting the appliance
After installing the appliance, you should
wait at least 1/2 hour before switching on
the appliance. While the appliance is being
transported, the oil in the compressor may
leak into the refrigeration system.
Clean the interior of the appliance before
using for the first time (see “Cleanning”).
The mains socket should be easily
accesebbile. Connect the appliance to a
220-240 V/50 Hz AC mains supply at a
correctly installed socket. The sockt must be
eguipped with a fuse protection rated 10 A
or higher.
If the appliance is to be operated in a
non-European country, check that the
voltage and current type indicated on the
rating plate correspond with the
specifications of your power supply. The
rating plate is situated in the bottom left-
hand side of the appliance. The mains
connection cable may be replaced by an
electrician only.
Warning!
The applince may not, under any
circumstances, be connected to
electronic energy-saving plugs (e.g.
Ecoboy; Sava Plug) and to power
inverters which convert direct current to
230 V alternating current (e.g. solar
energy system, power networks on
ships).
