In models equipped with a water lter

system, only BRITA MAXTRA water

lter cartridges may be used.

BRITAMAXTRAcartridgescanbe

purchasedfromretailersordirectlyfrom

BoschCustomerService.(Seetheback

pagesoftheseinstructionsforcontact

information).

Theappliancecanbeusedwithorwithout

altercartridge.

Keepinmindthatyouwillenjoythebene-

tsofBRITAltrationonlyifaMAXTRA

ltercartridgeisinstalledintheappliance.

Teaandcoffeealsohavemorearoma

whenpreparedwithfresh,BRITA-ltered

water.

Tousethemachinewithoutalter,simply

removethelterholderandthelter

cartridgeandadjustthemachinesettings

accordingly.

Important:TheFilterYes/Nosetting

controlsthelterreplacementindicator.

Changing the lter setting

Turntheapplianceoffwiththeon/off

switch.

►

Press and hold the temp. setbutton.

►

Turntheappliancebackonwiththe

on/offswitch–the

iconashes.

►

Press the start/stopbuttontoselectthe

FilterYes/Nosetting:

Yes =

lightsup

No =

doesnotlightup

►

Release the temp. setbutton–theset-

tingisnowstored,andthemostrecently

selectedtemperaturelightsup.

Note:Tochangethissettingatanytime,

repeattheaboveprocedure.

Aftersettingthelterto“yes”,thesymbol

willlightupafteracertaintimeduring

operation.TheBRITAMAXTRAlter

cartridgeisexhaustedandneedstobe

changed.

Toinstallanewltercartridge,proceedas

follows:

Preparing and installing the BRITA

MAXTRA lter cartridge

►

Removetheltercartridge’sprotective

packaging.

►

Immersetheltercartridgeincoldtap

waterandshakeitlightly(foraboutve

seconds)toremoveanyairbubbles.

►

Takethelterholderoutofthewatertank

andrmlyinsertthecartridgeintothe

holderuntilyouhearaclick.

►

Holdthelterholderunderthewatertap

andllitwithfresh,coldwater;letthe

waterrunthroughtheBRITAMAXTRA

ltercartridge.

►

Repeatthisproceduretwoorthreetimes.

►

Placethelterholderwiththelter

cartridge back into its position in the

emptywatertankandllthetankwith

coldtapwater.

►

Holddownstart/stopbuttonforatleast

2 seconds to delete

Note: Toreplacethecartridge,simply

pullonthestrapattachedtothetopofthe

cartridge.Wheninstallinganewcartridge,

followtheabovestepsforpreparingand

insertingacartridge.

 UsedBRITAMAXTRAwaterlter

cartridgescanbedisposedofwith

theregularhouseholdgarbage.Ifyou

– Alwaysstorespareltercartridges

sealed in the original packaging in a cool

anddryplace.

– BRITAwaterltersaredesignedforuse

drink)orwithwaterfromprivatesupplies

whichhasbeentestedassafetodrink.
