• Another key difference is in the form of multiplication that occurs.

Cells multiply without “division.” They don’t split up the

relationships that have formed in the groups. Those who are ready

to start groups do so, and they stay in their “Parent Cell”

indefinitely. So, they have 2 Cells – their “Personal Cell” and their

“Parent Cell” – a place to receive and a place to give.

• There need not be any specific time limit on how fast someone is

ready to start their own Cell. It may happen a little faster because

of the new view of a Cell Leader not being a big shot, but

readiness is always an individual issue. WHEN to start a Cell is

not the important thing: HOW you do it is crucial.

• So CELL is neither inherently legalistic, nor does it necessarily

promote novices to their doom (unless you choose to work it that

way), but it IS a very effective way to do Cells in the Body.

Neighbour har uppenbarligen korrigerat sig själv sedan Where Do We

Go From Here? kom ut i sin första upplaga 1990. Den modell han

förespråkar har uppstått under resans gång, ur en längtan att få verka

som missionär. Neighbour kan tidigt ha kommit i kontakt med begreppet

cell, utan att ha tagit det till sig. När han i boken The Seven Last Words

of The Church använder ordet cell har det ingen annan betydelse än liten

grupp.

I början på 1970-talet får Neighbour upp ögonen för det grekiska

ordet

och i mitten av 1970-talet tillfälle möter Cho och dennes

”home cell groups”. Under sin första vistelse i Singapore berättar

Neighbour att han tillsammans med Kong bildat husförsamlingar. Han

har med andra ord ännu inte tagit till sig begreppet cell eller cellkyrka.

Detta kom att förändras under 1980-talet efter mötet med Tonna som

talar om den lilla gruppen som ”a small church”.

Cellen är i centrum och all aktivitet utgår från cellerna. Det är i

cellerna som den nödvändiga fostran och träningen av nya lärjungar och

nya ledare äger rum. Samtidigt innebär cellstrukturen att varje cell är
